Government concerned about the results of Top Ten Consumer News

< Back

The Health, Welfare and Food Bureau (HWFB) is concerned about the results of Top Ten Consumer News in 2005. The Government understood that people were very concerned about food safety and public health. As the policy bureau, the HWFB was dedicated to safeguarding public health, a spokesman for the bureau said today (January 26).

"We look forward to setting up the proposed Centre for Food Safety as soon as possible to enhance food safety and protect public health to meet the growing public expectation for better food quality and higher safety standards," the spokesman said.

The Government called on the trade to co-operate and not to procure food products from unknown source. Members of the public should be cautious in choosing food products. They may report the sale of expired food to 2868 0000.
