The following is issued on behalf of the International Festival of Inclusive Arts:

How do extraordinary performers surmount their physical and mental constraints to step on the stage and transform themselves into ambassadors of spiritual communication? "Theatre Mix" brings you a touching experience of spiritual transformation.

Organised by the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau and the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, the International Festival of Inclusive Arts will be held from December 2 to 10. Through diverse programmes like performances, exhibitions, a symposium, workshops and carnival, the festival aims at providing an opportunity for participation in arts by people with and without disabilities, and promoting an inclusive society.

December 8 will be the drama night for the festival, with "Theatre Mix" being staged at 7.30pm at the Theatre, Hong Kong City Hall. In "Door - Inside Out 2006", New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association's "My Dancing Heart" Performing Art Workshop combines different forms of performances such as drama, dance, music and movement to convert the spiritual journey of people who are ex-mentally ill into short stories, and transform the stage into a door of inclusion that connects the rehabilitated and the audience.

In "I See You Love Me", a fight in a park triggered the son to leave his visually impaired father behind. The old father started to play music in the park every day, hoping to lure an echo from his son, yet he drew another fellow who was visually impaired. Could only suffering people accept other sufferers? Two visually impaired artists, Ricky Tse and Po Sun-yee, and child actors from "FM Theatre Power" bring the extraordinary father-and-son relationship to life.

Epic Arts Cambodia collaborated with Cambodian and European artists with or without disabilities, and created "The Return". Based on a Cambodian folk story, "Wolf Mountain", "The Return" fuses traditional Cambodian dance with a contemporary integrated style.
