Appointments to Hospital Authority

The Government announced today (November 30) the re-appointment of five members and appointment of one member to the Hospital Authority (HA) for a two-year term with effect from December 1, 2006.

Ms Vivien Chan, Professor Fok Tai-fai, Mr Edward Ho Sing-tin, Dr the Hon Joseph Lee Kok-long and Mr John Lee Luen-wai have been re-appointed as members to the HA. Dr Donald Li Kwok-tung has been appointed as a new member. Dr Li is a private medical practitioner and a member of the Hospital Governing Committee of Our Lady of Maryknoll Hospital.

The Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food, Dr York Chow, thanked outgoing members Dr the Hon Kwok Ka-ki for his advice and contribution to the HA. He will retire from the HA Board with effect from December 1, 2006.

The Hospital Authority, as from December 1, 2006, will comprise a chairman, 19 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list of the Hospital Authority is as follows:
