SFH deeply saddened by death of Professor Lee Shiu-hung

     The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, today (January 9) expressed his profound sadness at the passing of Professor Lee Shiu-hung, former Director of Health and Emeritus Professor of Community Medicine of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and extended deep condolences to his family.

     "Professor Lee served in the medical and public health sector for more than 50 years. His outstanding contribution to advancing Hong Kong's medical and public health framework is highly remarkable.

     "He was an expert in public health and made wholehearted commitment to the development and training of public health echelons as well as the prevention of infectious diseases. He was also zealous in enhancing the promotion of health in the community," Dr Ko said.

     "The death of Professor Lee is a great loss to the medical and public health sector. We will make every effort to help the family of Professor Lee during this sad period," Dr Ko added.
