Appointments to Health and Medical Development Advisory Committee
The Government today (October 31) announced the appointment of 15
non-official members to the Health and Medical Development Advisory
Committee (HMDAC). The appointments will take effect from November 1, 2014
for a term of two years.
The HMDAC is tasked to advise the Government on the formulation of policies
and strategies for the long-term development of medical and health services
in Hong Kong.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, said, "We have recently
reviewed the role and functions of the HMDAC and decided to re-constitute
the Committee as a standing advisory committee to advise the Government on
long-term public health and healthcare policy issues, in particular primary
care and the rising demand for medical services arising from the ageing
