SFH on hawkers in Yen Chow Street bazaar

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function today (February 22):

Reporter: What is the latest arrangement for vendors and hawkers in Yen Chow Street fabric bazaar?

Secretary for Food and Health: I need to point out that all licensed vendors agreed to the conditions of moving away. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department is still discussing with non-licensed vendors. I think we all understand that the conditions for licensed vendors should not be applied equally to non-licensed vendors. But on the basis of creating a market where similar operators can gather together, we will continue to discuss and communicate with non-licensed vendors. Hopefully we can find a solution which is agreeable to all parties concerned.
