Chiropractors Registration Ordinance (Commencement) Notice gazetted
The following is issued on behalf of the Chiropractors Council:
The Chiropractors Registration Ordinance (Commencement) Notice 2001 and the Chiropractors Registration (Fees) Regulation were published in the Gazette today (April 6).
The Chiropractors Registration Ordinance (Commencement) Notice 2001 brings into force provisions relating to the registration and disciplinary procedures of the Chiropractors Registration Ordinance in April 6 and June 8, 2001 respectively.
A spokesman for the Chiropractors Council said, "The arrangement will allow the Chiropractors Council to make the Chiropractors (Registration and Disciplinary Procedure) Rules and to receive applications for registration in the second half of the year."
The Chiropractors Registration Ordinance provides for the regulation of the practice of chiropractic through a system of registration and disciplinary control of chiropractors and the establishment of a Chiropractors Council as the regulatory authority, the spokesman explained.
"The Chiropractors Council has been set up and is making preparation to enable the registration of chiropractors. It is expected that practising chiropractors in Hong Kong will be invited to apply for registration in the second half of this year," he added.
Enquiries about the registration system can be directed to the Chiropractors Council at 2527 8363 or 2527 8360.
