The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will depart for Singapore tonight (February 9) to attend the Ministerial Meeting on Universal Health Coverage to be held on February 10 and 11.

Under the theme "The Post-2105 Challenge", the two-day meeting has been organised by the Singapore Government to provide a platform for health officials and academics to exchange views on various topics concerning universal health coverage and future challenges.

Dr Ko will attend the opening ceremony of the meeting, during which the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr Margaret Chan, will deliver a keynote speech.

On February 11, Dr Ko will speak on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases at a panel session; and will share his views on the way forward for universal health coverage in Hong Kong at a subsequent ministerial roundtable forum.

Accompanying Dr Ko to the meeting will be the Deputy Secretary for Food and Health (Health) Special Duties, Mr Chris Sun, and the Assistant Director of Health (Health Promotion), Dr Anne Fung.
