< Back

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a radio programme this morning (August 29):

Reporter: (about fees and charges of public hospital service)

Secretary for Food and Health: The Government at this moment does not have the intention to propose any raise in the basic fees and charges of public hospital system. But the adjustment of fees and charges of public hospital service remains one of the tools to adjust service provision and service utilisation of the system. It is also one of the tools potentially affecting the balance of public and private healthcare system. But most importantly, at this point, the Government does not have the intention to propose basic fees and charges adjustment of public hospital service.
