SFH to visit London

The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, will visit London for two days to strengthen exchanges and co-operation in health aspects between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom (UK). He will leave Hong Kong on October 15.

On October 15 (London time), Dr Ko will call on the Chief Medical Officer, the Department of Health of the UK, Professor Dame Sally Davies, to discuss public health issues of mutual interest.

In the afternoon, Dr Ko and the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Public Health, Ms Jane Ellison, will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss future collaboration. They will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding on health co-operation between the two places. In the evening, he will attend the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Annual Dinner.

Dr Ko will visit the Royal Free Hospital to learn more about the hospital's infection control practices and high-level isolation units on the following day.

The Director of Health, Dr Constance Chan, will accompany Dr Ko on the London visit.

Dr Ko will return to Hong Kong on October 17.
