Government announces appointments to Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health

The Government announced today (October 30) the appointment of Dr Lee George Lam and Dr Christina Maw Kit-chee as new members of the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health.

Three serving members, Dr Susie Lum Shun-sui, Dr David Sun Yee-wha and Mr Jackson Wong Fan-foung, are re-appointed.

All the appointments are effective from October 1 for a term of two years.

The Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health is an independent statutory body established in 1987 to advise the Government on matters related to smoking and health. It is also tasked with advancing public education concerning the effects of smoking on the community and individuals as well as with engaging in smoking-related research.

The full membership of the Council with effect from October 1, 2015 is as follows:
